I really love your shots of the garter snake. Very close up and very detailed. I also like the beetles, and the shot of the wasps nest. When I was a little girl I saw those while living back east, and your photo reawakened alot of good memories and some funny ones. We has a wasp nest in the light of our upstairs kids bedroom, and my mom cleared all of us kids out of the house while the firemen smoked it and removed it. Strange memory, but here in California people always call the fire department to remove rattle snakes. Like you I'd rather photograph or paint the offending subject rather than remove or kill.
