Black Racer (Coluber constrictor)

 I think the black racer is the most beautiful snake there is, sleek and shiny! I used to spend lots of time in the woods and loved to see these guys curled up in the branches of laurel bushes, sunning themselves. Lovely work!

David Bayles and Ted Orland  Awesome shot, again. You captured the silky feel of the scales. I couldn't help but notice the light's reflection in it's eye, it's literally a twinkle! Nice zoom work!
